Prosecutors drop charges in 'ghost gun' case linked to LAPD gang unit scandal
Los Angeles County prosecutors have dismissed a gun possession charge against a man due to the involvement of officers from a scandal-plagued gang unit within the LAPD's Mission Division.
The decision to dismiss the charge came after the defense argued that the gun was recovered during an illegal stop, and three of the officers involved would not be available to testify due to a pending investigation. [ more ]
